Touring a Home Under Construction
It can be difficult to picture what a new home will look like based on floor plans alone. Once that new home is under construction and the rooms begin to take shape, it’s a great time to schedule a walk-through with your builder or Realtor.
The construction phase is a great time to ask a lot of questions of the builder, to better understand the elements that go into building a new home. You’ll be able to see the quality of the construction and materials as well.
Once the rooms are framed and spaces start to take shape, the next step is installing all of the mechanical elements, after that the insulation goes in and the drywall goes up. At this point, you can really get a sense of what the rooms and layout will feel like.
You can even look out the windows and understand what your views will be from every room.
This will be your last chance to make any changes to colour selections, before the paint goes on the walls! At this point, you’re only a few months from being able to move in to your new home.
